RaeRae of Light, an Arizona nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and funding research for congenital heart disease (CHD), today announced it has reached a milestone of $100,000 in gross revenue donated to Phoenix Children’s Foundation. The $100,000 is for congenital heart disease research, through the sale of Arizona’s Congenital Heart Disease specialty license plate, an initiative spearheaded by RaeRae of Light and central to its mission.

“We created this plate to honor the children we’ve lost and those still fighting,” said Amy Norris, founder and executive director of RaeRae of Light. “Reaching $100,000 is a testament to the incredible community of supporters who continue to help us fund lifesaving research at Phoenix Children’s Foundation.”

Since launching the license plate program, RaeRae of Light has remained committed to its goal: helping keep hearts beating. All net proceeds from CHD plate sales go directly to support congenital heart disease research at Phoenix Children’s Foundation, driving innovation in treatment and improving outcomes for children living with heart conditions.

The design of the CHD plate is rich with meaning and memory. It features

  • “Rae’s of light” emerging from the heart — symbolizing hope and light

  •  A child-like font, “Love ya like a sister,” in honor of Reagan, who remains a baby sister in spirit

  • Reagan’s actual EKG tracing along the bottom of the plate

  • The tagline “keep hearts beating,” inspired by a mother’s tribute to Eve, another child lost too soon

  • The names Reagan and Sophie — two heart babies — embedded in petals of the heart-shaped flower. Sophie’s family contributed the flower logo in memory of their daughter, Sophie the Wildflower.

“Funding made possible through RaeRae of Light and the CHD license plate is critical to advancing congenital heart disease research,” said Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer, Phoenix Children’s Foundation. “We are grateful to RaeRae of Light for their tireless commitment to helping children with heart conditions.”
